Silly furry creatures from Arizona

Ode to a gold glittery lettered tshirt I had custom made when I was 8.

Sara and Pierre

A christian girl from the Mid West under the spell of sweet Pierre from France. How he made it all the way to the Mid West to find her has left us guessing.

White Knight Taxi Service

So I get a bit bored at work and I found a pad of paper from Radio Cab and started doing little circus freak doodles on it. Here is Hap and Sid....I can give you their number if you need a ride.

Bonkers!!

I added a Mad Lib from 1988 into the pages of my sketchbook. After having fun with Ryan filling it out, I decided to illustrate some of the words we added. I'm a visual person so it seemed logical to make the words into pictures.

Stitching thru the pattern

I have been adding things here and there to my sketchbook but not really completing anything to post. This piece I did while hanging out at Ryan's house while he and his roommates watched Saturday football. If sports on TV doesn't force me to draw then I should quit now.

Back to business

A resurrection of sorts. Out with the bad pages ~ in with all kinds of wonderful different pages. I started putting together a sketchbook a few years ago in hopes of binding it and creating but it just sat in a box. When I decided to tear out the original pages in my Project Sketchbook book I went back to those pages. They were twice as big so I got to fold them in half and find different pages throughout.
Now to sketch, paint, draw, create......

To pieces.....

I felt a bit like a mad scientist when I deconstructed my book. Now to find pages to make the monster come alive.....ah ha hahaha ah ha ha.....

What to do?

Ugh...these pages or paper rather kinda sorta really suck! I tried gessoing them but they wrinkle and rip. And they are so thin that you can even see a pencil mark clear through...blah. I guess I will dig out an old journal I was going to have bound and cut it down to size. Good thing we took that book binding class in school Laura...ha like 8 years ago. Wish me luck ~ then I can start posting pretty pictures instead of gripes.

T-shirt!

My t-shirt arrived today.  I almost thought they forgot about me.  I am going to wear it as I sit at my desk and watch all the live web feed of the openings.  *dork*  It's ok. I know it.

Blank Canvas

So refreshing and so intimidating, all at the same time.  I was actually surprised at how small the book was.  I knew the dimensions, so I don't know why I was surprised...  I guess it will grow as I fill it.  Seem bigger and bigger throughout the process.  I am already thinking about the finishing touches before I have a thing on the pages inside!

Portland's ball is rolling

I just bought mine! I choose "jackets, blankets and sheets" and it is a craft paper cover so that I can mess with it....

Ball Rolling

I did it.  I bought my sketchbook today.  I am officially involved.  Mine will be red.  And my theme is Nighttime Stories.  I am so excited.

Here we go!

First blog post on a new blog.  I haven't bought my sketch book yet, but I figured getting the site set up and running would motivate me to make the purchase and encourage both Doni and I to get started.  I am excited!  It's been a while for me since I've sat down and created something of my own.  I sit down and create every day at work-- but that belongs to the Man.  Will update again once I order my book and have picked a theme.  Any thoughts?  Suggestions?
